Mr. Ping: The secret ingredient is… nothing!
Po: Huh?
Mr. Ping: You heard me. Nothing! There is no secret ingredient.
Po: Wait, wait… it’s just plain old noodle soup? You don’t add some kind of special sauce or something?
Mr. Ping: Don’t have to. To make something special you just have to believe it’s special.
:/
I guess it’s not the workers fault if the company’s movies suck, but ever since I heard about Dreamworks moving like half their animation productions to Hong Kong I’m just sort of losing faith in them and for the whole animation biz. This is just depressing.
between this and the Rhythm & Hues fiasco…
sometimes I SERIOUSLY question my choice in career ._.
Keep in mind that there’s still small studios looking for people who don’t farm out production overseas and tend to have less overall controversy. The industry isn’t entirely made of the big “elite” studios. Those small companies sometimes go out of business because people only want to work for bigger companies. Nothing wrong with doing the same job at a studio that isn’t widely recognized across the world. Most of the time it’s more enjoyable because you actually know everyone and there’s a bit less legal bru-ha-ha to dance around.
Also, most large studios tend to “shed” employees after a movie/game is made because towards the end they will hire on bulk staff to finish everything, especially those menial jobs like QA or roto. It’s not uncommon for a studio to get rid of 100+ people at the end of production, though this is a bit more of a “We’re financially tanking” than that.
I also saw this last night and the number was only 200. Wondering if the number has been exaggerated through word of mouth or if more people have been laid off since last night…?
give me the reasons not to reblog this.
they don’t exist
You don’t see many Mumford and Sons gifsets. This is really cool.

Rise of the Guardians - Shane Prigmore (early climax story sketches)
Very early art for Guardians. Production started over 5 years ago (some of the art has the 2008 date on them), so the whole project evolved many times and in many different ways: designs, story, etc…
(and Shane Prigmore’s art is awesome!!!)
